"A set of learnings called the Enneagram is the best roadmap I've seen for understanding deep personal patterns... patterns so ingrained that expecting us to see them on our own is truly like asking fish to describe water. I encourage you to see if the Enneagram offers you some fresh insight into your habitual behaviors and underlying fears and beliefs." - Pam Fox Rollin, IdeaShape Principal

Coaches, Therapists, Trainers:
Qualify (for free!) to use the BRECKENRIDGE ENNEAGRAM™

Bring your clients the deep self-knowledge of the Enneagram, now with a psychometrically-sound instrument proven successful with corporate clients.

If you are qualified to administer the MBTI® or other Level B instruments, you're qualified to use the Breckenridge Enneagram, too. Follow three steps:

  1. Sign up with the Breckenridge Institute to receive your account to administer the BTI online. (Unlike many other online assessment systems, there is no charge to become a qualified administrator or use the site.)
  2. Read the psychometric report to familiarize yourself with this instrument.
  3. If you're new to the Enneagram, or have questions about the BTI™, email us at IdeaShape for further information.
Benefits of using the Breckenridge Enneagram:
  • Be "bilingual": Offer your clients both MBTI® and Enneagram -- each powerful individually and even more valuable used together
  • Use language that resonates in corporate environments. The Breckenridge Enneagram™ instrument and report were designed for this purpose.
  • When working with pairs -- co-workers or personal partners -- you can use the BRI™ Relationship report to highlight typical dynamics between these two types
  • All with easy-to-use, secure, professional online administration

More about the Breckenridge Type Indicator™(BTI™)

The BTI™ is a psychometrically validated assessment tool designed to help identify key elements of managers’ and staff members’ personality using the nine personality types of the Breckenridge Enneagram™. The Breckenridge Enneagram™ integrates the original work of Claudio Naranjo; Maslow’s psychology and Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs; the See-Do-Get Process®; and a rigorous approach to psychometric analysis and empirical research. The Breckenridge Enneagram™ is set apart from other approaches to the Enneagram by its focus on a naturalistic, scientific view of personality assessment and psychological processes that are linked to modern advances in the neurosciences.

The BTI™ can be used for both personal and professional applications, but it is especially effective when used as the basis for professional coaching, leadership development, or team building exercises. Organizations are collective-cultural entities that are led, managed, and changed one person at a time. Studies have shown that people who possess emotional intelligence and self-knowledge are often twice as successful as those who possess only high levels of intellectual intelligence. In your professional life, a better understanding of your personality using the BTI™ will help identify decision-making bias and predictable errors in judgment in both strategic and tactical issues. When used in your personal life, the BTI™ allows you to identify underlying patterns of behavior that frustrate and undermine healthy relationships with friends and family members.
